Newcastle Lions Club Organise Charity Evening

By 20th September 2018July 17th, 2022No Comments

Newcastle-under-Lyme Lions Club are organising a fundraising event to raise valuable funds to donate to our Men in Sheds group. The group have collectively decided to support this project which is based at the Brook Centre on Stanier Street.

The Lions Club knew a little about what we do here at Approach, but David, a member of the Club visited the Brook Centre earlier this week to find out more about the Men in Sheds project and how the money raised would support the group. David had a chat with one of the group members, Henry, who explained they were soon hoping to start work on creating a pathway in the allotment area. This would allow wheelchair users within the group to have easy access to the area so they could get involved in planting in the raised beds we already have in place.

David thought this was a great idea and said the Club would be more than happy to raise funds to provide materials for Henry and the rest of the group to complete the pathway.

In order to raise these funds to purchase the required resources, David and the Lions Club have organised a Charity Chinese Banquet at Furama Palace on Newcastle Road on Wednesday 17th October 2018 at 7.00pm.

Thank you to Newcastle Lions Club for supporting Approach with this event. The Men in Sheds group are thrilled at the prospect of their new allotment area.
