Co-op Members Raise £5434 For Approach Disability Friendly Project
Approach made a successful application to the Co-operative Local Community Fund in November 2017 for Disability Friendly Allotment Project. During the year the Co-op’s members raised over £19 million for over 4,000 local causes in the UK. Every time a member shops at The Co-op, 1% of what they spend on selected own-branded products and services goes to help fund community projects where they live.
We were elated to discover that members locally had managed to raise £5434.24 for our Disability Friendly Allotment Project at The Brook Centre. This will help us install wheelchair friendly access paths and power to the area.
Our chairman Eddie Slade went along to the Co-op store at the Westbury Centre, Westbury Park, Newcastle-under-Lyme to meet store manager Matt Harper and his team and to collect the cheque on Saturday 24th. November 2018 – the Co-op’s payout celebration day.
We’d like to thank everyone who chose to support the Approach Disability Friendly Allotment Project as this will give our Men in Sheds groups a wider range of activities.
