Dementia 2020 Citizens’ Panel for England Seeks Participants
We have been asked to share news of the Dementia 2020 Citizens’ Panel for England.
Below is the self explanatory request showing the background, giving an outline of what would be involved and details of how to get involved.
Dementia 2020 Citizens’ Engagement Panel
The Dementia 2020 Citizens’ Engagement Panel Have you, or has somebody close to you, been diagnosed with dementia in the last few years? If so, we’d really like your help.
We are inviting people with a dementia diagnosis, or their main carer (either family or friend) to join our Dementia Citizen’s Panel for England. Once on the panel you would receive questionnaires – either by post or online – asking about your experiences.
Questionnaires would be sent once every three months over the next year and only take around 15 minutes to complete. We might also invite you to take part in a small discussion group or an interview about your experiences. Joining the panel doesn’t mean you have to complete the questionnaire or agree to an interview but it does give you a chance to share your experiences of living with dementia and maybe improve services for the future.
If you would like to join the panel and help with this important evaluation of the Government’s 2020 Dementia Challenge Plan for England, please sign up by going online to www.opinionresearch.co.uk/dementia2020panel.
You can also take part in our first survey – whether or not you want to join the panel – on this site. Alternatively you can contact ORS (contact details below) if you want us to post a survey questionnaire or panel recruitment form to you.
This project has been commissioned by the Department of Health for England and is being carried out by Opinion Research Services (ORS), an independent organisation who is managing this citizens’ engagement project on behalf of the Department of Health.
If you have any questions about the Dementia 2020 Citizens’ Engagement, the recruitment process or survey or if you need any further information, please contact Claire Thomas at ORS on 01792 535 337 or claire.thomas@ors.org.uk, or Daniel Morris at ORS on 01792 535324 or daniel.morris@ors.org.uk .
Thank you for your help. Your participation in this engagement will have an important role to play in shaping dementia services in England.
