Our Oak Priory based Day Opportunities Group celebrated Wear It Pink Day for ” Breast Cancer Now ” on Friday 19th. October.
They had a fun packed day that saw the staff dress in pink to help raise just over £160 for the cause.
Dawn, our Oak Priory Day Opportunities Officer (who can been seen below wearing a pink tutu below) said
“It was a great day that came up as an idea only a week earlier when we decided to dress up in pink for a bit of fun. We then thought we could raise some funds for a charity and discovered it was Wear it Pink Day – which funds research that’s working to discover how to prevent breast cancer. Being a charity ourselves we thought we could give something back and also have some fun doing it. We quickly set to work, booking singer Paul Quinton who kindly reduced his fee to be involved. We also had donations from Asda Wolstanton, Celebrations Balloons in Wolstanton, the manager and caterers at Oak Priory, family friends Izzy and Lesley Boxall.”
Residents at Oak Priory also got involved with activities including a name the bear game, a raffle and the guess how many pink balloons competition.
