The Casserole Club

The Casserole Club is an innovative new project being rolled out across Staffordshire by Staffordshire County Council and Future Gov after the immense success of the pilot scheme in London. The project allows local people to dish out extra portions of their delicious home cooked meals to elderly people who struggle to cook for themselves.

As well as providing elderly people with hearty and nutritious meals, the programme also helps to build community cohesion by preventing the elderly from feeling lonely and isolated from the community. This is especially important in light of a new Age Uk survey which reported that 10% of people 65+ defined themselves as regularly or always lonely- a significant rise from 7% only a year ago.

The Casserole Club is a great scheme to ensure our elderly locals remain happy and healthy and at the same time strengthening community bonds.
