Barlaston Residents support Approach through their Open Garden Weekend

Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July saw the Villagers of Barlaston take part in an open garden weekend in which residents welcomed the public into their homes to view their beautiful gardens.

This is an annual event organised by the Barlaston Community Group; intended to bring the Village of Barlaston together.

Residents taking part in this event also take this opportunity to raise valuable funds for local charities and charitable causes through ticket sales, refreshment sales and raffles.

This year, Bill and Val Scott welcomed visitors to their garden and chose to donate funds raised from the event to Approach.

Bill and Val saw over 100 visitors to their garden who all enjoyed their beautiful garden. Also on offer at Bill and Val’s home was a wooden garden planter raffle prize which was won by local residents, Mr and Mrs Boote

From their open garden afternoon, Bill and Val have raised £232.54 which they have kindly donated to Approach to support our services. Val was delighted and said, “I would like to thank all of the visitors who very kindly made a donation. Both myself and my husband were very glad to have supported Approach and hope the donated monies help towards the support you offer to our community.”

We would like to say a huge thank you to Bill and Val for supporting Approach and to the residents of Barlaston and beyond who visited their wonderful garden. A brilliant sum of money has been raised which will make a big difference to the work we do!
