A Walk to Remember-Back for 2019!
After the continued success of our sponsored walk, we are happy to announce our walk is back for 2019! We are holding our sponsored walk on on Sunday 2nd June at Westport Lake.
This event is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness of dementia within our local community and for you to remember your loved ones affected by dementia.
Each lap of the lake is 0.7 miles and you are welcome to walk as many laps as you’d like. The walk around Westport Lake is flat and gentle, wheelchair friendly and situated in a nature reserve. There is also a lovely café at the lake offering beautiful panoramic views of the scenery along with the Oatcake Boat – ideal stops for refuelling after (or during) a brisk morning walk. Not to be forgotten is the children’s play area, making it the perfect place to visit for families, keen walkers and nature lovers alike. Westport Lake is also a favourite and a particular place of interest for many of our own service users!
We will also have some merchandise available to buy including forget me not crocheted pins and dog bandanas- which were very popular at last year’s walk!
All funds donated from the walk contribute to ensuring we can continue to provide our vital and valuable support services for those individuals living with dementia and their families in our community.

Registration is just £3 per adult- a small price to pay to ensure we can continue to provide on-going support to everyone who requires our support.
