The 4Get Me Nots complete their tough Relay Marathon

By 4th September 2018July 17th, 2022No Comments

The 4Get Me Nots made up of Approach staff completed their relay marathon on Sunday 15th July 2018.

We are delighted to announce that the team completed the 26.2 mile route in a time of 5 hours and 18 minutes- a fantastic time in such gruelling conditions.

Sunday 15th July was one in a long run of blisteringly hot days in the UK and a really tough day of running for the team! The Stoke-on-Trent Festival of Running Marathon organisers deemed the marathon to be one of the most challenging runs in the UK featuring some steep incline stretches such as Trent Valley Road in Penkhull and Navigation Road in Cobridge.

The team were overjoyed to see so many friends and colleagues waiting for them as they all crossed the finish line after completing the last mile together as a team.

We are thrilled to announce that so far the team have raised over £800 to support activities in our day opportunities groups and carers cafes. This will make a huge difference to the support we can provide to those in our community.

If you would still like to sponsor the team, there is still time! Our Virgin Money Fundraising Page will remain active until Friday 31st August for anyone who wishes to donate to this cause.

We would like to say a thank you to everyone who has already sponsored the team and huge congratulations to The 4get Me Nots for completing this tough challenge.
