Male Support Worker – Men In Sheds & My Day My Way – Ref AJ1714

The necessity for a male support worker is an occupational requirement that satisfies the relevant provisions of the Equality Act 2010.
Permanent contract – 22 hours per week (12 hours Men in Sheds/10 hours My Day My Way)
£8.27 per hour, increasing to £8.50 per hour with a NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the extremely popular Men in Sheds group as well as working individually with men on the My Day My Way project.
The Men in Sheds Project provides high quality day care groups for older men affected by dementia. The Men in Sheds group members will participate in a variety of activities including woodwork, gardening, crafts, etc.
My Day My Way provides 1:1 support to older people with dementia within their own home and community. This support work can include virtually any activity that an individual wishes to do – please note that this is not purely a domiciliary care role.
A full induction and training will be given upon commencement for the successful applicant.
Car driver essential, we pay a mileage allowance of 42p per mile for travel.
Closing date for completed applications is 15th November 2017 at 4.00pm.
Interviews to be held on Thursday 23rd November 2017.
Annual Leave entitlement is 27 days per annum plus bank holidays, pro rata to full time staff.
